  • Safety & Security

Your safety and security is paramount to us while you’re staying at the resort. This page contains information on how to stay safe and also what to do in case of an emergency. If you are in need of emergency assistance now, please dial 911 or 0 for the hotel operator.

    Security

    • Close the door securely whenever you are in your room and use all locking devices provided. Be sure the connecting and sliding doors are locked properly. Make sure all doors are locked when you leave your room.
    • As a precaution, place all valuables in the safe located in your room.
    • Confirm who is at your door by using the peephole. You can verify if it is a hotel employee by dialing 0 and asking to speak with the front desk.
    • Do not leave your room keycards on tables, at the pool, or any other place where they can be lost or stolen.
    • Be observant when entering parking lots and do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
    • If you see or hear any suspicious activity, please report your observations to management or dial 0 and ask to speak with the security team.

    Safety

    • Please observe all signs, and follow all rules, around the swimming pools, fitness center, and recreation areas.
    • Please watch young children at all times, especially in or near swimming pools, waterslide, and hot tub. Note, the swimming pools and hot tub have no lifeguards on duty.
    • Warning signs at the resort are intended for your safety. We ask that you read and obey them.

    Be Aware

    • Immediately after check-in, become familiar with your room and safety precautions. Check to see if windows open and where doors lead.
    • Locate nearest alarm and stairway exits. Count doors between your room and the stairway exits.
    • Get into the habit of placing your keycard in the same place and always take when leaving your room during an emergency as you may need to get back in.

    In Case of Fire

    • Notify the hotel operator or fire department by dialing 0 or calling 911.
    • If smoke is present, grab your keycard and crawl to the exit door on your hands and knees. Smoke and fumes rise.
    • Before you open the door, feel it with the BACK or your hand.
      • If the door is HOT, do not open the door as fire may be right outside. Fill the tub with water, stuff wet sheets or towels under the door to keep out smoke. Keep them damp using the ice bucket. Open the sliding glass door or windows and turn on air condition. If the walls feel hot, throw water on them. Use a wet towel around your face and nose (to protect you from smoke and fumes). Signal for help.
      • If the door is NOT HOT, open it slowly and move towards the nearest stairway exit. Close door behind you and count doors behind you. Crawl, don’t run. Keep to the side of the hallway where exit door is located. Warn others as you pass down the hallway. Pull fire alarm if possible.
      • AVOID ELEVATORS and never use an elevator for emergency exits. Use the stairway to exit. If there is smoke in the stairway, find another exit. As smoke rises, do not head to the roof. Roof doors are kept locked.
      • DON’T JUMP if you are higher than the third floor, as you may not survive the fall. Panic and smoke are the biggest casualties in hotel fires. Knowledge can help you remain calm and escape safely.

    In Case of Earthquake

    • During an earthquake it is important to remain calm. Most injuries occur as people are entering or leaving buildings. If you are inside, stay inside. Do not rush outside. Get under a table or sit near the bed and stay clear of windows and mirrors.
    • If you are outside, remain there. Move away from trees, buildings, telephone and electrical lines to an open area.
    • NEVER use elevators until they have been inspected for safety. Use stairways only after advisement of safety.
    • It is typical for aftershocks to occur for several days following an initial earthquake. These are normally less severe and decrease as time passes.
    • Following an earthquake, the resort staff or emergency personnel will give further instructions and the next course of actions.
